We are and American family living in Spain. In 2006 we moved here as our daughter was turning three. In Northern California we made wine for seven years but never with our own grapes. We were fortunate enough to glean some choice Napa Valley Cabernet through fun filled harvest days with friends. Our annual production was two to three hundred bottles a year.  

After settling in Spain for a couple of years it became our dream to have land with a small vineyard.  It took several years to find the right space. In 2014 we found a small property with ancient terraced hillsides in rural Catalunya. El Penedés is the heart of Spain’s cava country. We then switched from our tradition of making Cabernet to cava.

A few years later we planted reds and will soon be back to making red wine again.

Our story doesn’t stop with wine. Friends wanted to plant lavender and we became partners in a lavender and essential oil endeavor.

Add the existing producing olive trees that came with the property and now two bee hives and that’s where you find us.  Our focus is on organic and natural. We don’t irrigate and all wine work is done by hand as we have no electricity.

We are two dads with a growing daughter.

Dos Padres is a welcome space for friends and new friends to come, get their hands dirty and enjoy the land with us.
